In order to properly test the new voting revenue distribution system, we have earmarked $5000 to be split evenly between categories that have reviews with votes by midnight February 29th. The total for each category will be split between (up to) the 5 top performing reviews ranked by # of votes. Here’s a breakdown of the payout percentage based on the number of reviews with votes in a qualifying category by Feb 29th at midnight. Remember, totals for a review are split 50/50 between the author, and all the voters who got them their ranking! The following example assumes that ALL categories have at least one review with a vote, so this is the worst case scenario! :) A First Place Review in a category with; A Second Place Review in a category with; A Third Place Review in a category with; A Fourth Place Review in a category with; A Fifth Place Review in a category with; Hope this helps you with planning your voting strategies once things kickoff. Please respond with any questions or comments. |

I am starting to get the hang of this voting system, but how about referrals? Can we earn money from referrals? |
If they vote on your reviews, absolutely! We’ve geared the system to allow you to experience upside for your invites by paying out according to the popularity of your content, so make sure you invite as many people to become your friend on SR as possible so your reviews can earn the biggest share of revenue as you can! |
One of the things we all can do as a community is search out new and lesser known members and vote/comment on their reviews. Not only does this increase community goodwill, it gives some of them hope they are valued and appreciated. |
thanks for the help. Now I’m going to contact all of my referrals. I’m excited to see what this new system will produce |
My curiosity is piqued by this. Does this mean than anyone whose reviews are not in the top 5 in that category earns nothing for their reviews? |
This is the payment model until the end of February. But generally speaking, revenue is split between the review writer, and the voters…so voters who help the review earn it’s place in the top spot earn money too! |
Top 5 is just for this month. As we earn more revenue, the community earns half, and the bigger the payout in the future the more reviews and their voters per category that earn money! |
This will be interesting. So if we go to a category we can see which products have the most votes? Oh, yes, you can choose to rank them by vote I see |
I am suddenly less excited and more confused. |
Cincin don’t worry, I feel lost here too. I’m as usual missing some portion of this equation LOL! and feel stoopid ‘bout it. |
LOL. Thanks Froggy. I’ma just keep reviewing and voting and hopefully enjoying the benefits! |
I think we will cincin. There’s still time to iron kinks out and firm up the guidelines a bit:) |
I like this, can’t wait to see how it will work!! |
Same here Rancosto. I love the social networking aspect to this. |
I love it so far!! :D |
It;s great seeing everyone pretty much helpin each other!!! |
What happens if there are more than 5 reviews in a category that all have the same number of votes (all tied for first place)? Is there some kind of tie-breaker? |
In case of a tie, the number of comments will be the tie breaker… |
Interesting….I leave a comment anyways even if it’s just to say I voted for your review! |
That seems fair Michael. I like the idea of leaving comments with votes. It shows the writer that you’ve read some of it hopefully and cared enough to stop and comment. |
Hmmm…never thought about a tie. Good question! And good answer! I always leave a comment too, even if it is just to say I was there and voted. Sometimes by the end of the night commenting gets long so I end up saying the same quick thing. :-) |
I tell you,I just LOVE all of the interaction now! I admit I am reading more reviews now than before and am learning alot from you all,so I have to say thank you to everyone for being so friendly and helpful!! |
That’s the whole concept here …community :) |
I’m utterly confused. Admittedly, I haven’t read through all of the many streams and posts and I am new to paid reviewing, so it is undoubtedly my own fault. Two questions: 1.) Am I reading correctly that we keep on reviewing? The change is simply that, rather than earning a flat fee, we earn based on the number of votes/comments? 2.) At some juncture, does the voting begin to fall into the hands of the general populace rather than the community of reviewers or does one need to be part of said community in order to vote? |
